Titus was raised in the Netherlands and graduated in Horticulture and Soil Science at the Middle Bare Agricultural College in Tilburg, Netherlands. Working and gaining knowledge at various European nurseries during the post-graduation summer months, Titus was accepted into a student exchange program at the University of Minnesota. After completing this program, he moved to Southern California were he stayed for three years, working for two garden and landscaping companies in the Los Angeles area. In 1989, Titus moved to New York where he took consecutive positions with three prominent landscaping firms, excelling in procurement, project management and design.
